Lynette Sykora

Illustrator, Design
Graphic Artist, Presentation Master, Layout Practitioner

Lynette came to Harmonic with a BFA in painting and drawing, plus years of teaching private music lessons—a combination that turned out to be perfect training for making sophisticated software feel approachable. Her background in art processes and the patience that comes from teaching teenagers how to play instruments translates surprisingly well to explaining FileMaker interfaces to users at all levels.

At Harmonic, Lynette creates the communicative illustrations, infographics, and concept works that help demonstrate complex software to everyday users. Due to her study of traditional painting techniques, she’s mastered the art process that takes a concept from initial sketch to final piece and has adapted this methodology to digital work. Through techniques like thumbnail sketches and composition studies, she guides colleagues through a standardized creative process that ensures all of Harmonic’s visual work maintains a consistent look and feel.

Outside the office, Lynette’s been serious about the double bass for over a decade. She started in sixth grade, played through college, and still takes private lessons today. When she’s not designing at Harmonic, you might find her performing with semi-professional orchestras, diving deep into Tolkien’s expanded Legendarium, studying ancient myths and history, or taking walks outside to clear her head.
